WNBA Changemaker Day Brings a Full-Court Press of Positivity to Indy
The WNBA and its corporate Changemaker partners are teaming up for an unforgettable morning of impact at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, tipping off All-Star weekend with purpose. Dubbed Changemaker Day, this initiative is as much about heart as it is about hoops.
On Thursday, July 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Ally, AT&T, CarMax, Deloitte, Google, and Nike will join forces with Voice in Sport (VIS) and the Black Women’s Health Imperative to tackle the pressing issue of period poverty. Volunteers — working like a well-oiled offense — will assemble an incredible 25,000 hygiene packs to stock shelves at Indy Hygiene Hub and Project Period Indy.
The event also includes a panel of MVP-caliber experts diving into topics like body image, puberty, and confidence, all framed around the transformative power of sport. To wrap up the morning, a Jr. WNBA clinic will dribble home the message that wellness and positivity are key to building strong players and strong people. With such a high assist-to-impact ratio, it’s no wonder this event is already a fan favorite.
These initiatives — and the WNBA’s commitment to empowering young women, elevating communities, and protecting the environment — show that Indianapolis isn’t just hosting basketball’s best players. It’s hosting basketball’s best people.
