Stars Edge Olympians in Tight Tennis Match
It all came down to the doubles courts, and unfortunately for Columbus East, Bedford North Lawrence pulled off the late heroics to claim a 3–2 victory Monday in boys tennis.
For East (1-5), Kai Bergmann rallied for a three-set win at No. 2 singles (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Landon Redelman was rock solid at No. 3 singles (7-5, 6-3). But the Olympians dropped all three other matches, including a tough three-setter at No. 1 doubles.
Trevor Ernst battled but fell at No. 1 singles, while the doubles pairs of Michael Reed/Micah Wettschurack and Carson Hartsook/Cooper Harry couldn’t crack BNL’s depth.
