Semi-State Showdowns: Diamond Dreams and Do-or-Die Drama

The stage is set for a massive Saturday in IHSAA Baseball, with Semistate action ready to serve up plenty of big bats and even bigger moments.

At Mooresville’s Pioneer Field, the Class 4A bracket brings firepower. Evansville North takes on North Central (Indy) in the 11 a.m. opener, followed by a Johnson County rivalry as Franklin Community faces Center Grove at 2 p.m. The two winners return for a 7 p.m. title game, where a trip to Victory Field awaits.

Meanwhile, the 3A bracket plays out at Jasper’s historic Ruxer Field. Guerin Catholic meets New Palestine in the morning matchup, while Greensburg and Jasper take the diamond in a 2 p.m. southern slugfest. The nightcap championship at 7 p.m. promises to be must-see baseball.
