Scruggs Spins a Gem as Bull Dogs Bash East Central

Softball | Final: Columbus North 11, East Central 0 (5 innings)
The Bull Dogs softball team didn’t just win on Wednesday—they put their paw print all over the scoreboard.
Bailee Scruggs dazzled in the circle with a complete-game three-hit shutout and six strikeouts, and Columbus North exploded offensively for an 11-0 mercy-rule win over visiting East Central.
The bats were barking early and often. North plated two in the first, two more in the second, three in the third, and four more in the fourth—capped off by a no-doubt two-run home run from Lily Retz. Retz finished a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs and the longball.
Morgan Jarvis added her own fireworks, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Scruggs helped her own cause at the plate as well, finishing 2-for-3 with a pair of runs driven in. The Bull Dogs (1-2) hit the road to Shelbyville tonight, first pitch at 5:30 p.m.
