Reds Swept in Doubleheader as Cardinals Bats Break Loose
Cincinnati dropped both games of Wednesday’s day-night doubleheader, falling 6-0 and 9-1 to the Cardinals. Rookie Chase Petty had a rocky MLB debut in Game 2, giving up nine runs in just over two innings.
The Cardinals launched three straight homers in the first game and saw Willson Contreras and Pedro Pagés go deep in the nightcap. Cincinnati went just 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position across both contests.
Hunter Greene takes the mound in the series finale as the Reds try to bounce back.
