Reds Swept, Dodgers Ride Ohtani to Historic Night
The Cincinnati Reds were caught in the Hollywood lights as Shohei Ohtani struck out nine and the Dodgers completed a sweep, 5-1. It marked the first time all season the Reds have been broomed.
Nick Lodolo took the loss, despite retiring the first nine batters he faced. Noelvi Marte gave Cincinnati an early spark with a 410-foot homer, but the Dodgers struck back with four runs in the fourth. Ohtani, on his own bobblehead night, capped the show by fanning batters and igniting the L.A. crowd.
The loss leaves Cincinnati (68-65) searching for answers as they prepare to host St. Louis.
