Reds Let It Slip as Giants Splash the Walk-Off

MLB | Final: Giants 8, Reds 6 (10 innings)
Just when it looked like the Reds would sail away with a sweep, the Giants brought the storm in San Francisco.
After leading 6-1, Cincinnati fell 8-6 in extra innings after Mike Yastrzemski launched a walk-off two-run homer into McCovey Cove. The Reds plated five in the third on RBI hits by Gavin Lux and Elly De La Cruz, and Nick Martinez struck out eight in 5.2 innings, but the bullpen couldn’t hold the tide.
Will Benson made a diving grab in the ninth to keep it tied, but Emilio Pagán gave up the game-winner in the 10th. Cincy now heads home for a Friday night matchup with the Pirates. First pitch from Great American Ball Park is at 6:40 p.m. with Brady Singer expected to start.
