Panthers Roar to Opening Win on the Links
The Jennings County Panthers got their golf claws out early in the season, scratching out a dominant win in Monday’s season opener at St. Anne’s Golf Course. Grace Oden set the tone for the day with a medalist-worthy 49, leading the Big Blue to a team total of 219 and a decisive victory over New Washington.
With the Mustangs only fielding three players—one short of the scoring minimum—Jennings County made sure to play their own best game. Amilia Gresham galloped in with a 51, Victoria Baez added a solid 58, Temprance Eggleston penciled in a 61, and Shelby Klescht capped the card with a 64.
It was a purr-fect start for the Panthers, who now head to today’s Seymour Invitational with momentum in their paws. With East and Trinity Lutheran in the field, it’s another chance for Jennings to keep driving toward a top-tier season.
