Panthers Pounce Past Bull Dogs in Season-Best Golf Battle
It was a picture-perfect day at Harrison Lake Country Club, and both the Jennings County Panthers and Columbus North Bull Dogs brought their A-game — and their season-best swings — to the fairways. When the final putt dropped, the Panthers prowled away with their first win of the season, a 215–229 triumph.
Sophomore Grace Oden set the tone for Jennings County, carding a season-best 46 to earn medalist honors. Temprance Eggleston chipped in a 55, while Amilia Gresham and Victoria Baez each matched scores of 57, and Shelby Klescht closed out the lineup with a 63.
The Bull Dogs also had their bite, with Harper Andresen and Caroline Crawford each firing season-best 53s. Bryn Emmitt posted a 57, Pia Mantooth a 66, and Sophia Wills a 68, all showing steady improvement from earlier matches. The performance was a big stride forward for a Columbus North squad that had only opened its season earlier in the week.
For Jennings County, this was more than just a win — it was a confidence booster, a drive straight down the middle toward more victories to come. For Columbus North, it was proof they’re finding their swing early in the season. Both teams walked off the greens knowing they’re just getting warmed up for the months ahead.
