Palou Powers to Sixth Win at Road America, Continues INDYCAR Domination
The 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES has been painted in red and white—Chip Ganassi red and SOLO Cup white—as Alex Palou surged to his sixth win of the season Sunday in the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America.
Palou and his No. 10 Honda crew once again played the strategy game perfectly, conserving fuel and making their final pit stop two laps later than teammate Scott Dixon. It was the difference in a race that saw no cautions over the final 24 laps despite five yellow flags early.
Palou passed Dixon for good on Lap 53 of 55, holding off a hard-charging Felix Rosenqvist, who recorded the fastest lap of the race in the final lap. Palou’s fuel conservation and track position held steady to the end.
It marked Palou’s sixth win in just nine races—matching a feat not seen since Will Power in 2011—and extended his championship lead to 93 points over Kyle Kirkwood. The Ganassi dominance has been nothing short of historic, with Honda engines continuing their perfect season.
The INDYCAR field now heads to Mid-Ohio for the Honda Indy 200, where Palou will once again be the favorite to extend his scorching run toward a potential third series title.
And if Road America proved anything, it’s this: When Palou’s got fuel and clean air, everyone else is just playing catch-up.
