Palou Powers to Lucky No. 7 at Iowa
Alex Palou continues to steer the NTT INDYCAR SERIES into his own lane of greatness, winning Sunday’s Farm to Finish 275 at Iowa Speedway for his seventh win in just 12 races this season.
While running third late, Palou benefited from perfectly-timed pit strategy and a caution flag to take the lead under yellow — then held it for the final 11 laps. Driving the No. 10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, Palou lapped up the competition and further padded his championship lead, now a massive 129 points.
The win capped a magical weekend where he led 194 laps and secured the elusive short oval win to complete the “INDYCAR cycle” — with victories on streets, road courses, superspeedways, and now a short oval.
Scott Dixon and Marcus Armstrong completed a Honda podium sweep, giving Chip Ganassi Racing plenty of reason to pop the champagne. Palou now chases history, within striking distance of A.J. Foyt’s single-season record of 10 wins. Next stop: the streets of Toronto, where the DHL driver will look to keep fueling his fire.
