Pacers Pull Off Stunning Comeback, Overcome 22-Point Deficit to Beat Clippers
The Indiana Pacers delivered a Hollywood thriller in Los Angeles on Thursday night, rallying from 22 points down to stun the Clippers 119-112 in a statement victory.
After a rough first quarter, the Pacers found themselves in an early 42-22 hole. The offense struggled, and their night took an even bigger hit when Myles Turner was inadvertently struck in the face by teammate Bennedict Mathurin while going for a rebound. Turner left the game after staggering to the bench and did not return, undergoing concussion evaluation.
Despite the adversity, Indiana refused to fold. The second quarter saw a 42-19 explosion, flipping the script entirely as the Pacers stormed into halftime with a 64-61 lead.
Pascal Siakam led the charge with 33 points, while Mathurin stepped up with 25, making up for the loss of Turner in the paint. The Pacers locked in defensively in the fourth quarter, closing the game on a 19-7 run while hitting 9-of-10 free throws in the final stretch to seal the victory.
For the Clippers, Norman Powell and James Harden each scored 22 points, while Kawhi Leonard added 19 in a season-high 34 minutes of play.
The win pushes Indiana to 29-21 on the season, with a final road test against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night before heading home.
