Olympians Spike Past Herron for First Home Victory
The Columbus East boys volleyball team flipped the switch Tuesday night, shaking off a mid-match lull to defeat Herron in four sets: 26-24, 24-26, 25-21, 25-12.
East fell behind in both the first and third sets before staging late rallies, including a 6-1 run in the third that helped swing the match. After losing momentum in the second set, the Olympians came out firing in the fourth, jumping to a 17-3 lead and never looking back.
The win avenged a straight-set loss to Herron last year and gave East its first home victory of the season. The Orange Pit will host more action this week with Martinsville and Jeffersonville up next.
