Olympians Run to Runner-Up Finish at Moores Hill Invite
The Columbus East girls cross country team hit the ground running at the South Dearborn Moores Hill Invitational, racing to a second-place finish behind champion Switzerland County.
Ainslee Shaw led the pack of Orange-and-Brown harriers, crossing seventh overall in 23:47. Abby Collins (12th, 24:47) and Elizabeth Sztaba (14th, 25:24) provided strong top-15 support, while Delaney Rogers and Brooke Newell finished inside the top 25.
On the boys’ side, East did not field a team, but Columbus Christian had Zane Schlaudroff competing individually. He ran a 26:21 to take 47th, while the Crusaders’ Elizabeth Schlaudroff and Natalie Schultz also represented on the girls’ course.
For East’s girls, the strong opener proved the program is ready to chase down podium spots all fall long.
