Olympians Outgunned by Grizzly Cubs
The Columbus East girls soccer team ran into a hungry Franklin squad, and the Grizzly Cubs feasted. Franklin rode four goals from Amelia Richter on their way to a 6-0 win at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex.
The Olympians, who had stormed out of the gate with a 6-0 victory against Indian Creek just two days earlier, simply couldn’t match the Grizzly Cubs’ roaring attack this time. Emma Christie and Cara Veach split time in goal, with Veach posting eight saves under heavy fire, but Franklin’s offensive pressure was relentless.
Still, the Olympians are only just beginning their season journey. After one big win and one tough loss, East knows there’s plenty of sky left to explore. Their next mission comes Wednesday at Bloomington North, where they’ll aim to rocket back into the win column.
