Olympians Golfers Earn First Win of the Season

At Otter Creek, the Columbus East girls golf team earned their first victory of the year, topping Greenwood 213-241. While the win was sweet, the Olympians also showed resilience after a scary moment when senior leader Amaylie Walsh was struck by an errant shot and taken for precautionary care.
On the scorecard, East’s youth led the way. Freshman Emma Gill and sophomore Abby King shared medalist honors with matching 51s, showing that cool heads and steady swings can deliver clutch results. Calleigh Gill followed with a 55, Sofia Perez carded a 56, and Kolbi Stephenson rounded out the team with a 60.
The 213 team score marked East’s best performance of the season so far — a promising sign that the Olympians are hitting their stride. With improved consistency and positive momentum, East looks ready to keep climbing the leaderboard as the calendar rolls deeper into the season.
