Olympians Fall Just Short in Historic Volleyball Debut

The Columbus East boys volleyball team made school history on Thursday night, taking the floor for their first-ever IHSAA-sanctioned match. The Olympians roared out to a two-set lead, but host Jeffersonville stormed back to steal the five-set thriller 19-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-22, 15-5.
Ian Scholl led East with 11 kills and four aces, while Alex Duncan set the table with 23 assists. Tyler Ernst anchored the defense with five blocks. Despite the tough loss, the Olympians showed flashes of brilliance and proved they’re ready to make some noise in the Hoosier Hills Conference.
The foundation has been laid, and the Olympians are officially off and swinging in their boys volleyball journey.
