Olympians Baseball Stumbles in HHC Tournament Opener
Columbus East baseball let a 5-2 lead slip away in the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament opener Monday, falling 8-5 at Jeffersonville. The Olympians (7-14) saw solid offensive production from JD Rotert and Emmitt Harden, who each collected two hits. Logan Warren added a double and two RBIs to pace the middle of the order.
Despite out-hitting the Red Devils 8-6, East couldn’t hold back a six-run fifth inning from Jeffersonville. Jackson Watkins and Ryker Stott split pitching duties, limiting the Red Devils to just six hits combined.
The Olympians now head to the consolation round, with matchups scheduled Thursday at Floyd Central and Friday against Jennings County at home.
