Olympians and Grizzly Cubs Set for Sectional Showdown Tonight

The postseason pressure is heating up on the diamond as Columbus East faces Franklin Community tonight in the Class 4A Sectional 14 semifinal. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m., with live coverage beginning at 5:40 on 1010 WCSI and 98.1 FM.

Columbus East enters at 8-19, looking to bounce back from an 8-2 loss to Bedford North Lawrence earlier this week. Despite the defeat, the Olympians got solid innings from Kaden Arnholt and Ryker Stott on the mound, and JD Rotert led the offense with a 2-for-3 night including a double.

Franklin (15-9) is also hoping to get back on track after back-to-back 7-4 losses to Decatur Central. Wyatt Mitchell has powered the lineup with a homer and two RBI in the last outing, while Landen Basey added a double and two more driven in.

This semifinal has all the makings of a close contest as both teams fight to keep their postseason dreams alive.
