Olympian Softball Faces Tough Weekend, Shows Fighting Spirit
Columbus East softball endured a challenging weekend, beginning with a rain-shortened 12-9 slugfest loss at Shelbyville on Friday. Despite the setback, the Olympians showcased a potent offense led by Thaise Jessup, who was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Baleigh Fish delivered significant power with a home run and four RBIs.
The team continued battling through Saturday’s doubleheader at Franklin, narrowly losing both games, 6-4 and 10-7. Natasha Armstrong’s consistency stood out in game one, while Jessup and Jacque Boroughs sparked the offense in game two. Despite the tough outcomes, the Olympians demonstrated resilience, indicating brighter days ahead.
