North Eyes State Finals Return, East’s Reeves Swings Solo at Regional

The Columbus North Bull Dogs are barking up the leaderboard again as they head into the Providence Regional Thursday at Champions Pointe Golf Club with their eyes firmly fixed on redemption.
After falling short in last year’s regional by just a handful of strokes, North enters this year’s postseason stronger, wiser, and eager to make their mark. The Bull Dogs were edged by just one shot in the Greensburg Sectional last week and now return to a course they know well—one where they placed fourth at the Providence Invitational, even without their top golfer, Brady Schneider, who missed that preview event with a hand injury.
Now fully healthy, Schneider and his teammates are ready to tee off in Henryville and chase a team berth to next week’s IHSAA State Finals at Prairie View Golf Club.
Meanwhile, Columbus East’s Mason Reeves is carrying the Olympian torch solo. His sectional round of 72 punched an individual ticket to the regional, and the sophomore standout is swinging with confidence heading into Thursday’s tee time.
To qualify for state, North likely needs to have their best outing yet, with fierce competition expected from Center GroveFranklin, and Batesville.
It’s a fairway fight to the finish, but if the Bull Dogs stay in the short grass and roll in the putts, they could be on the green at Prairie View next week.
