National League Smashes Through in All-Star Swing-Off

In a historic finish to the MLB All-Star Game, the National League finally broke through the American League’s dominance — and they did it in dramatic fashion. For the first time ever, the game was decided by a Home Run Derby-style swing-off, and Philly slugger Kyle Schwarber rose to the occasion with three monster homers on three swings.
With the game tied 6–6 after nine innings at Truist Park, Schwarber and the NL bats flexed their muscles, topping the AL’s total 4–3 in the swing-off. It was the Senior Circuit’s second win in the last 12 years and a fitting tribute to Hank Aaron, celebrated earlier in the night.
The exhibition also featured some 100-mph heat from Paul Skenes, a memorable appearance by Clayton Kershaw, and even the first use of the automatic ball-strike challenge system in All-Star history.
Schwarber, who has come up short in Home Run Derbies before, finally got his All-Star hardware — proving once again that when the pressure is on, the big bat delivers.
