Karen Force-Spurgeon Honored as a Hoops Hall of Fame Selection

The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 Women’s Silver Anniversary Team, and Columbus East alum Karen Force-Spurgeon is making headlines once again! Force-Spurgeon, a 2000 graduate, was a key player for the Olympians, leading them to sectional, regional, and semi-state championships. She left her mark with 891 career points and countless clutch moments on the court.
Her talents didn’t stop there. At Cornell University, Force-Spurgeon rewrote the record books, becoming the first Ivy League player to tally more than 1,250 points and 400 assists in a career. Known for her pinpoint passing and ice-cold free-throw shooting, she set multiple program records, including a perfect 10-for-10 free-throw performance in one game. Off the court, she’s also a Hall of Famer at Cornell, further cementing her legacy as one of Indiana’s best.
With accomplishments that continue to resonate, Karen has certainly dribbled her way into basketball immortality.
