Jets’ Serving Runways Too Much for Crusaders
The Hauser Jets were cleared for takeoff Thursday night, and their serves created plenty of turbulence for Columbus Christian in a 25-7, 25-11, 25-16 sweep.
The Jets unleashed more than 20 aces, with senior Kaysie Kistler delivering a dazzling run in the second set that stretched the lead to 16-0. Freshman Hayden Dickey also lit the scoreboard early with an 11-0 serving burst in the opener.
Charleston Gelfius was dominant at the net with nine kills, while also anchoring the block alongside Kaidenze Shoaf. Leah Manley spread the wealth with 17 assists, while Dickey added seven digs to pair with seven aces.
The Crusaders showed grit, with Katie Bond and Tea Richey each pounding three kills and Emma Rice posting eight digs. Columbus Christian may have fallen to 1-5, but the fight and learning moments should carry forward.
