Jets Prepare for Takeoff: Hauser Set for Regional Dogfight Against Panthers

The Hauser Jets are headed for high-stakes altitude this Saturday, taking on the third-ranked Knightstown Panthers in the Class 1A Regional at Mitchell. First pitch is at 2:00 p.m., and all the action will be live on 1010 WCSI and 98.1 FM.
Hauser enters the regional with a 19-3 record and riding a 14-game winning streak that’s included dominant pitching, explosive offense, and airtight defense. The Jets soared past Oldenburg Academy 9-1 to win the sectional behind a two-way gem from Simeon Wasil, who struck out 10 on the mound and crushed a home run at the plate.
Add in Stryker Gill’s perfect 4-for-4 performance and R.J. Foster’s three runs scored, and the Jets are flying full throttle.
But they’re not the only aircraft in the sky.
Knightstown comes in at 23-4, armed with a .356 team batting average and 307 runs scored this season. Cannon Hunt is living up to his name, entering the game with video-game numbers including a .750 average and .800 on-base clip.
Still, Hauser’s secret weapon may be their defense. The Jets have allowed just 47 runs all season — a testament to their consistency and control. It’s a classic strength-on-strength showdown, and the winner will punch a ticket to semistate.
This one could come down to one swing or one misstep. Buckle up — the Jets and Panthers are ready for liftoff.
