Jets Grounded at Madison Despite Strong Tennis Effort
The Hauser girl’s tennis team played with grit on the road Monday but couldn’t convert rallies into results, falling 5-0 to a solid Madison squad.
Ruby McKinney and Isabella Price pushed their opponents in singles action, especially during the first sets, but ultimately dropped competitive matches. Doubles pair June Berkenstock and Marley Jordan also battled into a tiebreak in the first set before falling 7-6, 6-4 at No. 2.
Despite the loss, the Jets showed improvement in shot placement and court coverage. Now 1-6 on the season, Hauser continues its tune-up with eyes on a stronger back half of the spring.
