Jets Edge Lancers in High-Scoring Softball Battle

In a tight Mid-Hoosier Conference softball matchup Thursday night, Hauser held off a furious seventh-inning rally from host Edinburgh to secure an 8-7 victory.

The Jets entered the bottom of the seventh with a five-run cushion, but the Lancers plated four runs to nearly erase the deficit. Pitcher Haven Hartwell managed to close the door in the final frame to preserve the win.

Offensively, Lexie Hamilton led the way for Hauser, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Izzy Brunner added a double to highlight a balanced attack for the Jets, who are now 1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Lancers put together 14 hits, led by Kenna Streeval’s 2-for-3 night, including a triple. Chloe Hancock, Shyla Watt, Addy Ramey, and Gracie Barrett all contributed with multi-hit games. Edinburgh fell to 3-2 on the season and 0-1 in MHC action.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again Friday in Hope for a rematch.
