Jets Crash in Midweek Matchup Against Connersville
Hauser softball faced a major turbulence warning Wednesday evening, as Class 3A Connersville came to town and rolled to a 15-0 win in five innings.
The Spartans, deep into their season with 17 games under their belt, pounced early and often, scoring nine runs in the second inning alone. Hauser committed nine errors that opened the floodgates and allowed the Spartans’ lineup to collect 18 hits.
Offensively, Hauser’s bright spot came from Izzy Brunner, who ripped a two-out triple in the first inning but was left stranded. Haven Hartwell added the team’s only other hit with a second-inning single.
Pitcher Haylin Campbell and Hartwell split time in the circle and battled to limit the damage, but the veteran Connersville squad proved too strong.
Despite the defeat, Hauser remains unbeaten in Mid-Hoosier Conference play and looks to right the ship Thursday night against Waldron.
