IU Columbus x Indiana Sentinels: a hometown power play for fans and students

IU Columbus has added a fresh faceoff partner to its growing athletics footprint, announcing a community-minded alliance with the Indiana Sentinels, Columbus’ new professional hockey club. The partnership blends collegiate spirit with pro-game buzz, opening doors for student engagement, game-day activations, and joint promotions that keep local fans plugged into year-round action.

What it means on campus and in the community:

More moments for students. Expect internship paths, event support opportunities, and behind-the-scenes learning tied to sports operations, marketing, and game presentation.

Cross-promoted game nights. Look for Pride takeovers at Sentinels home dates and Sentinels spotlights at IU Columbus events—two fan bases, one home-ice advantage for Columbus.

A bigger sports calendar. With the Sentinels skating into town, local fans can roll from fall volleyball and soccer to winter hockey without missing a beat.

The Sentinels are set to compete in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) as the 2025–26 season drops the puck this October. As the city’s home professional team pairs up with the city’s home collegiate program, Columbus gains a double dose of pride: Crimson on campus and navy-and-gold on the ice. Consider it a full-strength attack for community connection—no need to pull the goalie when both sides are pushing the pace.

Stay tuned for co-branded nights, ticket specials, and student-fan experiences as the partnership hits the ice. In the meantime, sharpen those cowbells and rally towels. From court to rink, Columbus is ready to roar.
