The IU Columbus Crimson Pride women’s basketball team will wrap up their Division I schedule today as they face the University of Evansville Purple Aces at 11 a.m. in the Ford Center.
The Aces will host their annual Education Day, welcoming over 1,400 students to the arena for a special game filled with educational activities and a high-energy atmosphere. This marks the first-ever meeting between the two programs, with IU Columbus continuing to build experience in their inaugural season.
The Crimson Pride will look to rebound after a tough 120-46 loss to Morehead State over the weekend. Gwen Higdon led IU Columbus with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including 3-of-4 from deep. Elyse Goad chipped in with 9 points while remaining perfect from the field, and Amaya Collins added 9 points while logging a team-high 36 minutes.
IU Columbus will have to be ready for Evansville’s freshman phenom Camryn Runner, who averages 18.7 points per game and leads Division I in free throws made. The Crimson Pride aim to finish their D1 matchups strong as they continue to lay the foundation for the future.
