Hoosiers Bounce Back with Big Win Over Sam Houston
Indiana men’s basketball returned to action Tuesday night and delivered a commanding 97-71 victory over Sam Houston at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers, who dropped out of the Top 25 rankings after a tough Battle 4 Atlantis showing, looked sharp on both ends of the floor.
Myles Rice led Indiana with 19 points, while Malik Reneau posted a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Luke Goode came off the bench to knock down five three-pointers, contributing 18 points to the effort. The Hoosiers used a 27-3 run in the first half to take control, building a 42-25 halftime lead.
Indiana shot an impressive 62% from the field and maintained their defensive focus to limit Sam Houston’s scoring opportunities. The win improves the Hoosiers’ record to 6-2 as they prepare for a Friday matchup against Miami (Ohio) and the start of Big Ten play next week.
