Friar finish: Tatis’ sac fly walks off Reds in extras

Padres 4, Reds 3 — MLB
The Reds raced to a 3–0 lead—TJ Friedl’s leadoff blast, an Elly De La Cruz RBI poke, and Austin Hays’ solo laser—behind Nick Lodolo’s 5 scoreless. San Diego chipped away, then detonated late. After the Cincy pen opened the door in the sixth, Jackson Merrill ripped a two-out, two-run triple off the right-center webbing to tie it.
In the 10th, a bunt and a throwing error by former Padre Nick Martinez pushed the automatic runner (Jake Cronenworth) to third. One pitch later, Fernando Tatis Jr. lofted the walk-off sac fly for the Friars’ 7th walk-off of the season. Wandy Peralta (6-1) nabbed the win; the Reds turn to Zack Littell tonight to even the set.
