Five-Alarm Fever! Indiana Sizzles With Weekend Back-to-Back Wins

The Indiana Fever have officially cranked the heat up in the WNBA’s playoff push, torching both the Dallas Wings and Seattle Storm in back-to-back road wins over the weekend. With the duo of Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard flexing their frontcourt muscle, and Kelsey Mitchell lighting it up from beyond the arc, the Fever now find themselves riding a scorching five-game win streak and sitting pretty at 17-12 on the season.
Friday Night in Big D: Fever Buck the Wings
Indiana hit the runway and took off in Dallas, dropping the Wings 88-78 on Friday night in a game that showcased their balance, poise, and paint presence. Tied after one quarter, the Fever applied some full-court flame with a second-quarter push fueled by Chloe Bibby and Aari McDonald. Bibby drained a pair of timely triples, making it three straight games with multiple threes—a feat not seen in Indy since the Katie Douglas era of 2008.
Aliyah Boston delivered a stat sheet buffet with 12 points, 11 boards, and 5 assists, securing her 37th career double-double and etching her name deeper into franchise history. She passed both Erlana Larkins and Shavonte Zellous in career assists and points, respectively, while also leapfrogging NaLyssa Smith for fourth all-time in defensive rebounds in a Fever jersey.
Not to be outdone, Natasha Howard recorded her 55th career double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds—her seventh such outing of the season. Lexie Hull added some defensive grit by drawing two more offensive fouls, strengthening her league lead in that stat category with 28 on the year.
The Fever outscored Dallas 48-36 in the second and third quarters combined, giving them the cushion they needed to seal their fourth straight win and soar four games above .500 for the first time in a decade.
Sunday in the Emerald City: Stormy Weather, Steady Fever
The road trip rolled on to Seattle, where the Fever weathered the Storm with a 78-74 win in a nail-biter at Climate Pledge Arena. Natasha Howard returned to her old stomping grounds and took over, scoring a team-high 21 points, while Sophie Cunningham added a season-best 17—her efficient shooting from downtown helping Indiana maintain a slim lead for most of the game.
Kelsey Mitchell delivered a clutch layup in the waning seconds to extend the lead to three, and Boston iced the win with a cool free throw with just over two ticks remaining. Boston’s performance was once again historic—her 12-rebound effort brought her career total to 932, now good for fourth all-time in franchise history.
Boston also extended her double-double streak to six consecutive games, marking her 38th overall and 14th of the season. Only Angel Reese, A’ja Wilson, Alyssa Thomas, and Breanna Stewart have more since Boston entered the league.
McDonald added a season-high nine assists, dishing out dimes like a Vegas dealer and keeping Indiana’s offense in rhythm. With the win, Indiana matched their longest win streak in the last 10 years and surged into fifth place in the WNBA standings.
Next Stop: L.A. Lights
The Fever will look to keep the sizzle going Tuesday night in Hollywood when they take on the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena. Tip-off is set for 10 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
