Falcons Edge Bull Dogs in Season-Opening Nail-Biter

The Columbus North girls golf team opened their 2025 campaign with a match that went down to the final putts at Harrison Lake Country Club. Hosting Perry Meridian, the Bull Dogs were just three strokes shy of victory, falling 244–241 in a contest where the short game became the difference maker.
First-year head coach Alexandria Weisheit, stepping in for longtime leader Scott Seavers, saw flashes of promise despite some early-season growing pains. Harper Andresen led the pack with a steady 55, followed by Pia Mantooth at 60 and Caroline Crawford at 62. Sophia Wills contributed a 67, and Bryn Emmitt rounded out the lineup with a 69.
While the Dogs came up just short on the scorecard, the experience was a valuable first step toward building consistency. With a day off from competition before hosting Jennings County on Wednesday, the blue and white will have a chance to sharpen their putting strokes and keep chasing birdies instead of bogeys.
