Elly’s Explosive Night Leads Reds Over Rangers

Elly De La Cruz delivered a performance for the ages, belting two home runs and driving in a career-high seven RBIs as the Cincinnati Reds crushed the Texas Rangers 14-3 at Great American Ball Park. De La Cruz added a single and a double to complete a four-hit night.
Matt McLain launched a solo shot in the first inning—his third home run in as many games—while Gavin Lux contributed an RBI double as part of a four-hit first inning. The Reds batted around in the sixth, doubling their lead to 12-0.
On the mound, Brady Singer sparkled in his Reds debut, tossing seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out eight. He became the first Reds pitcher since Tom Seaver in 1977 to throw seven scoreless innings in a team debut.
The Reds (2-2) and Rangers (3-2) continue their series Tuesday night with Carson Spiers taking the mound against Texas ace Nathan Eovaldi.
