Cubs Mauled by Giants’ Power Surge

Chicago’s hot streak cooled fast as San Francisco slugged four homers in a 12-3 win. Rafael Devers led the charge with two long balls and five RBI, while Matt Chapman added his 200th career blast.

Nico Hoerner provided the lone Cub highlight, crushing a three-run homer in the second. But rookie Carson Whisenhunt silenced Chicago bats and the Giants’ offense feasted late.

The Cubs (76-56) now look to regroup with Shota Imanaga on the mound in the series finale.
