Columbus Rugby Falls Short in Senior Night Heartbreaker
The Columbus boys rugby club team came up just two points short in an intense 19-17 battle with City Rugby—a team made up of players from Cathedral, Bishop Chatard, and Indianapolis Tech—on senior night at McCullough’s Run Park.
Evan Saevre found the try zone twice, and Michael Reed added another score to keep Columbus in the match. Javier Cuenca Manasaque nailed a conversion, and Sam Mormino earned Player of the Match honors.
Columbus wraps up the regular season at 2-6 and now turns its attention to the Challenge Cup, with a potential home match on the horizon this Saturday. Matchups will be finalized soon.
