Columbus North Softball Falls Despite Offensive Surge
The Columbus North softball team dropped a hard-fought 7-4 contest at Brownstown Central on Monday evening, despite racking up 11 hits to the Braves’ six. The Bull Dogs (8-10) came out swinging, with Payton Morris leading the charge by going 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Lily Retz also made her presence felt at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Avery Shehan and Miley McClellan chipped in two hits apiece.
Morris took the start in the circle and struck out seven over four innings, allowing just one earned run. Bailee Scruggs entered in relief and pitched two innings, fanning one.
Columbus North will look to bounce back Tuesday night at Bloomington South.
