Columbus North Holds Off Late Push from Shelbyville
The Bull Dogs earned a wild 9-8 victory at home over Shelbyville, holding off a furious seventh-inning rally. Leading 9-6, North allowed a two-run homer that cut the lead to one before senior Joey Fry was called upon to close it out. He worked through a two-on, two-out jam and notched the final strikeout to preserve the win.
North’s offense clicked with 15 hits as every starter collected at least one. Brock Kintner drove in three runs with a 3-for-4 performance, including a double. Jack Whaley also went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Jackson Newman added two hits and two RBIs. The Bull Dogs improve to 7-8 and are set to host Silver Creek for senior night before Friday’s rivalry clash with Columbus East.
