Columbus North Girls Basketball Opens Season with Redemption Win Over Franklin

After a tough end to last season, the Columbus North girls basketball team turned the tables on Franklin with a 57-43 victory in their season opener. The Bull Dogs showed resilience and improved cohesion, bouncing back from a 14-9 first-quarter deficit and pulling ahead with a 32-26 halftime lead. In the fourth quarter, Columbus North outscored Franklin 19-9, solidifying their road win.
Senior standout Hadassah Hurt led North with 18 points, proving her skill and readiness after missing most of last season with an ACL injury. Supporting Hurt’s efforts, teammates Paige Terry and Avery Johnson added nine points each, while Kaylie Harmon contributed eight. Columbus North capitalized on Franklin’s missed opportunities and maintained defensive pressure, showcasing a revitalized squad that aims to keep the momentum going this season.
