Columbus North Bull Dogs Wrap Up a Busy Weekend

Boys Volleyball:
The Bull Dogs went 1-2 at the Lawrence North Invitational, defeating the hosts but falling to Homestead and Harrison. Leo Iorio led with 21 kills and 17 digs, while Kota Kondo distributed 40 assists and tallied six aces. The Bull Dogs now sit at 5-11 on the season.

Boys Golf:
North’s golf team posted a team score of 337 at the Floyd Central Invitational, finishing eighth overall. Reid Perry paced the Bull Dogs with an 81, while Luke Friend and Brady Schneider followed closely behind.

Track & Field:
At their home invitational, Columbus North’s boys and girls both earned fifth-place finishes in a loaded field. Denton Sluder took the 3,200 meters with a personal-best 9:21.33, while Emerson Chambers captured the girls’ 100-meter hurdles in 14.99. Multiple relay squads placed in the top three as the Bull Dogs continued to build early-season momentum.

Girls Tennis:
Aya Saad and Lucy Bergman each posted dominant straight-set wins to help Columbus North edge Seymour 3-2 on Thursday. The deciding point came at No. 2 doubles, where Grace Conner and Nino Akakalata sealed the deal in a tight second set.

Softball/Baseball:
In Thursday action, Columbus North softball fell 2-1 at Shelbyville despite a combined pitching effort from Payton Morris and Bailee Scruggs. Offensively, the Bull Dogs managed four hits, including doubles from Morris and Lily Retz. Meanwhile, North’s baseball team struggled in its Conference Indiana opener, falling 10-0 in five innings at Bloomington North, which held the Bull Dogs hitless.
