Columbus North Bull Dogs Pull Away Late to Defeat Martinsville

The Columbus North girls’ basketball team continued their hot start to the season, improving to 3-0 with a hard-fought 42-33 victory over Martinsville on Thursday night. The Bull Dogs found themselves trailing 17-16 at halftime but regained momentum in the second half, taking a slim one-point lead into the fourth quarter. That’s when they locked down defensively, outscoring the Artesians 15-7 in the final period to seal the win.

Sophomore Kaylie Harmon led Columbus North’s offense with 12 points, showcasing her shooting and playmaking skills. Hadassah Hurt contributed nine points, while Kenna Conrad chipped in with six to round out the scoring leaders. The Bull Dogs’ strong defensive effort and clutch shooting in the final minutes proved too much for Martinsville to handle.
