Columbus East Sweeps Track Meet Over Jennings County

The Olympians ran away with dual team victories on the track Thursday, with the boys winning 76-56 and the girls pulling off a narrow 67-64 victory over Jennings County.
Boys Breakdown:
  • Austin Menefee and Keaton Lawson sprinted past the competition in the 200 meters.
  • Isaac Fields claimed gold in both the 110 hurdles and a leg of the 4×400 relay.
  • Jared Brooks flexed his strength in both the shot put and discus.

  • Carsyn Schlehuser sprinted to a win in the 100 and anchored both the 4×100 and 4×400 victories.
  • Sariah Hifo of Jennings County edged East in the 200 but couldn’t stop East’s overall relay dominance.
  • In field events, East’s Kendall Chapple and Grace McMahan led the way in discus and shot put respectively.
