Columbus East and Hauser Grab Key Wins Before Tournament Play
The Columbus East Olympians snapped a three-game losing streak in dramatic fashion, edging Madison 54-52 on a last-second driving layup from Keaton Lawson. East trailed by seven points in the fourth quarter before storming back, with Lawson leading the way with 14 points. Mason Reeves added 13, and Carter Patterson chipped in 11 to help secure the win.
Meanwhile, Hauser showed why it’s ranked No. 3 in Class A, demolishing Milan 80-31 on the road. Gavin Keller erupted for a career-high 23 points, while Ledger Gelfius (20 points) and Taeshaun Tungate (14 points) also had big nights.
With sectionals looming, both East and Hauser will look to build momentum in their final regular-season games this week, with East hosting Greensburg on Tuesday and Hauser taking on Greenwood Christian on Thursday—both games featured on 1010 WCSI, 98.1 FM, and online at 1010wcsi.com.
