Columbus Christian Boys and Girls Wrap Up Season in ICSAA Regional Play

The Columbus Christian boys and girls basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end in the ICSAA South Regional, but not without leaving their mark on the court.
The boys team opened regional play with a hard-fought 73-66 victory over I-Town Prep, overcoming a determined opponent that had improved significantly since their last meeting. Elijah Fields led the way with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Judah Carlson provided a crucial spark off the bench, tallying 18 points and eight boards. Hunter Goddard and Heath Harrison also contributed, helping the Crusaders dominate the glass with a 44-20 rebounding edge.
However, their postseason run was cut short in the semifinals, where they ran into a formidable Calvary Christian squad. Columbus Christian struggled to find its offensive rhythm and fell 62-30. Fields once again led the team in scoring with nine points, while Carlson chipped in seven.
The Columbus Christian girls team also saw their season conclude in the regional final, falling 49-34 to I-Town Prep. The Crusaders kept it close early, but a relentless rebounding advantage by I-Town proved too much to overcome. Emma Murray led the team with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Paige Harden added eight.
Both Columbus Christian teams put together solid seasons, with the boys finishing 8-18 and the girls wrapping up at 13-10. Though their runs ended earlier than they had hoped, their postseason fight and resilience were a testament to the progress they made throughout the year.
