Bull Dogs Unleash Offensive Bite in Rivalry Rout of Olympians

The annual girls’ soccer clash between Columbus North and Columbus East lived up to its billing under the lights at BCSC Soccer Complex — at least if you were wearing blue and white. The Bull Dogs didn’t just fetch a win; they dug in with sharp teeth and ran away with an 8-0 victory over the Olympians.
Avery Baker opened the scoring just two minutes into the match, setting the tone for what would become a North showcase. By halftime, the scoreboard barked at 3-0, thanks to finishes from Lily Ryan and Allison Kolhouse. The second half was pure dominance, as Grace Bethuram buried two goals, Grace Merritt added one of her own, and freshman spark plug Lexi Roukas got in on the fun. Even defender Hayden Bigler pushed up to slam home the final tally.
North outshot East 38-1, proving this pack can run for 80 minutes with relentless pressure. Keeper duty was shared, but the defense barely let East sniff a chance. For the Olympians, Cara Veach made 15 saves under heavy fire, showing grit despite the final margin.
The Bull Dogs (3-1) now turn their attention to New Albany, while the Olympians (1-4) regroup with nearly two weeks to prepare for Bedford North Lawrence.
