Bull Dogs Unleash Late Rally to Bite the Red Devils
Baseball | Final: Columbus North 4, Jeffersonville 3
The Columbus North Bull Dogs scratched out a gutsy 4-3 win over Jeffersonville Wednesday evening at Southside Elementary, thanks to some timely howling at the plate and lockdown pitching.
Junior Dillon Long delivered the clutch of the night—his first varsity hit, a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the fifth that gave North the lead for good. Long’s liner wasn’t just historic—it was heroic.
On the mound, the Bull Dogs went with a junior one-two punch. Javier Uscanga made his first varsity start and threw four innings of one-hit ball with seven strikeouts. Jayden Adorno slammed the door over the final three innings, fanning four and picking up his first varsity win.
North (3-1) scattered seven hits across seven players, with Jesse Clark and Lane Schrader each delivering RBI singles in a key second-inning rally. The Bull Dogs will now look to carry that bite into their Conference Indiana opener at Bloomington North tonight at 6:00 p.m.
