Bull Dogs Scratch Out a Season-Opening Victory
The Columbus North boys tennis squad wasted no time showing their bite is as strong as their bark. Traveling to Plainfield, the Bull Dogs pulled out a tight 3-2 season-opening victory against the Quakers.
Alek Devidze played like a true top dog at No. 1 singles, grinding out a straight-sets win, while Jace Branham locked down No. 3 singles with a display of confidence and control. The doubles courts turned into a tug-of-war, but Luca Devidze and Jaishal Padmanabhan came through at No. 2 doubles, sealing the deciding point with a composed performance that sent the Dogs home howling with joy.
North showed early they’re ready to fetch wins and mark their territory in 2025, even as the Quakers proved to be no easy opponent. For the Dogs, this opener was more than just a win—it was the first pawprint on what they hope will be a long trail of success.
