Bull Dogs handle business, sweep Warriors for fourth straight win
Volleyball — Columbus North 3, Scottsburg 0 (25–14, 25–17, 25–16) — Columbus
One night after a league win, North avoided the emotional dip and kept the energy meter pinned. The Bull Dogs (10–6) led wire-to-wire in Set 1, then broke an 11–11 deadlock in Set 2 behind senior Hannah Perry’s closing serve run. Coach Sarah Stair cleared the rotation in Set 3—senior Clara Balzano sealed the final three points.
At the net, Karen Dutro stuffed the stat sheet with 10 kills and five solo roofs—full “block party” mode—while libero Morgan Osborn vacuumed 19 digs and sprayed three aces. Setter Lexi Denny dished 26 assists, toggling tempo to get Sydney Ousley (7 kills, 1 assist block), Tania Maldonado (7 kills) and Elaina Penrod (5 kills) swinging in rhythm. Rori Pollert added 10 digs; Osborn and Balzano chipped three assists apiece; Dutro, Denny and Perry each dialed up two aces. Bonus boost: sophomore Sydni Schiefer made her season debut and logged three kills—welcome depth for the weekend slate.
