Bull Dog Netters Edge Trojans in Season-Opening Thriller
Columbus North girls tennis rallied with some late-match grit to take down Center Grove 3-2 in their season debut. The turning point came at No. 1 doubles, where Annabelle Sun and Lizzie Bodart battled back from a second-set loss to win the rubber set 6-4, clinching the team win in dramatic fashion.
Aya Saad was also in cruise control at No. 1 singles, winning the second set 6-0 and jumping to a 4-1 lead in the third before her opponent was forced to step aside, handing Saad the match. The No. 2 doubles duo of Grace Conner and Nino Akalaya took care of business with a tidy 6-4, 6-2 straight-set win.
Despite losses at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, the Bull Dogs showed depth, resilience, and strong court presence across the board.
